2. What METEO / Atlas is

METEO / Atlas is a weather information dashboard that gathers, combines and presents forecasts from third-party numerical models, observations (radar, satellite, stations) and the official warnings published by AEMET, the Spanish State Meteorological Agency. It also offers guidance tools for some sectors (forestry, transport and outdoor events), configurable alerts and an API.

The service is free and is supported by voluntary donations and sponsorship, which do not give rise to any guarantee or additional service. It is under development and may change, be interrupted or end at any time.

3. Nature of the information and disclaimer

Please read this carefully before using the service.

  1. These are model forecasts, not certainties. Almost all the information in METEO / Atlas comes from third-party numerical weather models (ECMWF, NOAA, DWD, Météo-France, the Met Office and others), combined and statistically corrected by us. A forecast is an estimate: it can be wrong about intensity, timing or location, especially with thunderstorms, local phenomena, complex terrain or several days ahead. Percentages, confidence levels and corrections are also estimates.
  2. It is not an official service. METEO / Atlas is not AEMET or Civil Protection and does not replace their warnings. The official warnings we show are a copy of those published by AEMET through MeteoAlarm; they may arrive late or not at all, and the official source always takes precedence. In a risk situation, follow the instructions of the authorities.
  3. Recommendations are guidance only. Wildfire risk, work windows (machinery, treatments, burning), the recommended departure time, risk for each stretch of a route, the events traffic light and any other recommendation are automatically calculated decision aids. They do not replace your professional judgement or that of your technical staff, safety rules, manufacturers' instructions or official permits and restrictions (for example, those on burning or declared wildfire danger periods).
  4. The decisions are yours. Do not use METEO / Atlas as the only basis for decisions that could affect the life, health or safety of people, or property, crops, goods, vehicles, facilities or events. Whoever makes a decision is responsible for it.
  5. No availability guarantee. The service is provided “as is” and “as available”. It depends on third-party data and services that may fail, be delayed or change, and on our own server. We do not guarantee that it will work without interruptions or errors, or that alerts, notifications or emails will arrive on time or at all.
  6. Limitation of liability. To the extent permitted by law, HOLA MARTECH, S.L. is not liable for any direct or indirect loss or damage (including loss of profit, loss of crops, goods or income, or cancelled events) arising from the use of, or inability to use, the service, from errors or delays in the information, or from decisions made on the basis of it. This limitation does not apply to wilful misconduct or gross negligence, and does not exclude the rights that the law grants to consumers and that cannot be waived.

4. Terms of use

5. Intellectual property and data sources

The design, code and texts of METEO / Atlas belong to HOLA MARTECH, S.L. or are used under licence. The weather, mapping and observation data belong to their respective owners and are used under their licences, which are credited on each screen and on the Sources and licences page (in Spanish). If you reuse information obtained here, you must also respect those licences and credit their sources.

6. Links to other websites

We link to third-party websites (AEMET, ECMWF, Copernicus and others) so that you can check the sources. We do not control their content and are not responsible for it.

7. Data protection

How we process your personal data is explained in the privacy policy.

8. Governing law and language

These terms are governed by Spanish law. Any dispute will be submitted to the courts that have jurisdiction under the law; if you are a consumer, those of your place of residence. This text is a translation of the Spanish original, which prevails in case of any discrepancy.
